Despite the “aqua” in its name, Aquarius is actually the last air sign of the zodiac. Aquarius is represented by the water bearer, the mystical healer who bestows water, or life, upon the land. Accordingly, Aquarius is the most humanitarian astrological sign.
Aquarians are known to be one of the most creative signs of the zodiac - and can be great innovators in their fields thanks to their unique way of looking at the world. They are creative thinkers who thrive off of providing fresh and original solutions to problems both personally and professionally. Aquarians tend to be independent thinkers and leaders but can easily be misunderstood by others - even those in their inner circles.
Aquarians might not always show their emotions - but they’re deep feelers who tend to keep things close to the chest. That said, aquarians aren’t afraid to take a stand and can sometimes be seen as the rebels of the zodiac - especially if it’s for a good cause.
However, Aquarians also need plenty of space and time on their own to reflect, form ideas, and plan their role in the revolution. When they feel like they have absorbed too much chatter of the world, they often need to get back to nature on their own for a period of time in order to recharge their batteries.
Although Aquarians may come off as detached, they are great communicators and like to assess others before investing in a relationship. They are not afraid of challenges, cannot tolerate boredom, and can be quite spontaneous.
Ultimately, freedom is of the utmost importance for Aquarians, who view challenges to their independence as power-hungry attempts to control them. To win an Aquarian's trust, don't try to reign in their quirks they don’t believe that they have to play by society’s rules or impress anyone. Aquarius thrives on shock value.
Aquarius can have a bit of a stubborn streak. This is often considered an Achilles’ heel. (In fact, in medical astrology Aquarius governs the ankles.) Aquarian obstinacy stems from strong, righteous conviction.
Aquarius is a winter constellation in the northern hemisphere, found near Pisces and Cetus. It is especially notable as the radiant for four meteor showers, the largest of which is the Southern Delta Aquariids in late July and early August.
